County Mayor Jim Coppinger will hold a press conference on the south steps of the Hamilton County Courthouse on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
His office said he "will make a major announcement."
County Commissioner Greg Beck and members of the local chapter of the NAACP have asked that the bust of Confederate A.P. Stewart be removed from the courthouse lawn.
