The Chattanooga Film Festival has officially started accepting submissions for its fifth annual celebration of cinema set for April 5-8, 2018. In addition, a limited number of early bird VIP passes are available for fans.
“It’s been an absolute blast putting together the Chattanooga Film Festival, and with our fifth year on the horizon, we think it’s safe to say that the good movie-loving folks of Chattanooga view CFF as one of our constantly innovating city’s new traditions,” said CFF Executive Director Chris Dortch.
The festival encourages filmmakers not only from the southeast, but from all over the world to submit their films.
Mr. Dortch said, “Opening submissions is always one of the best parts about what we do and the unbelievable talent on display in the films we receive affirms our belief that the art of motion pictures is alive and well.”

For 2018, the festival’s VIP Badges will be the most perk filled yet, officials said. A limited number of these badges are now available for an early bird rate of $150 at

In addition to gearing up for CFF 2018, organizers are gearing up for the new SHINDIG Film Festival and the annual Frightening Ass Film Fest.
Set for Oct. 6-7, the SHINDIG Film Festival is Chattanooga’s first and only celebration of queer cinema. This two-day event will feature the best in short form and feature length narratives and documentaries from around the globe, bringing the newest and most exciting queer cinema to the Scenic City. In its inaugural year, SHINDIG is focusing on the celebration of community and will feature numerous screenings, parties, filmmaker discussions, and more.
"SHINDIG is a chance for Chattanooga film lovers to experience cinema that might have previously evaded them, and a chance for LGBTQ citizens of the city to see their stories and voices portrayed on screen in a variety of different ways. The seventh annual Frightening Ass Film Fest, CFF’s celebration of all things spooky, will take place over the course of two days this year, Oct. 26-27.
