2nd Person Arrested In Assault At Ooltewah Residence On Nov. 24

A second person has been arrested in an assault involving use of a baseball bat at an Ooltewah residence on Nov. 24.

Taken into custody earlier was Kane Anthony Hullender, 18, of 1970 Sandra Dr., Cleveland, Tn.

Authorities have also arrested Chase Higdon, 20, of 115 Wooten Road, Ringgold, Ga.

He said being held at the Hamilton County Jail on bonds totaling $120,000.

Charges include aggravated robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, felony vandalism over $2,500, and theft of property under $1,000.

The Sheriff's Office said it was believed the motive was the pair was seeking revenge for the victim allegedly mistreating his former girlfriend.

The victim said he was invited to a friend's house at 6425 Olin Dr.

He said he was met outside by Hullender and Higdon, who knocked him to the ground.

He said he was hit several times and robbed of his wallet, watch, keys, IPhone 6, and a debit card.

He said he was stripped of his baseball cap, hoodie and one of his gloves.

As he was trying to flee in his vehicle, he said Hullender got a baseball bat and knocked out his front and rear windshield. He said he later got his personal items back.

He said damage to his vehicle was $4,600.

Two witnesses said they saw Hullender and Higdon assaulting the person who later fled in his vehicle.
