Ralph Willard Nichols, 97, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Thursday, February 1, 2018.

Ralph was a World War II veteran having served as a lineman in the U.S. Army. Throughout his life, he was the owner of Esso Gas Station, Nichols Hotel and co-owner of Hickory Valley Motors.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Geneva Nichols.

Survivors include his half-sister, Lois Pierce, nephews, Larry Duncan, David Nichols, Charles Duncan, Jack Shelton and many great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A private graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
