District 6-AA Finals, Consolations Set

The District 6-AA boys championship is set for Tuesday at Howard and will see the Tyner Rams face off with Signal Mountain. 

Tyner held off a third quarter rally by Howard winning 58-46 in one semifinal on Saturday.  Signal Mountain was led by Owen Honroth's 24 points in their 64-57 win over Red Bank in the other semifinal.   

In girls action, Red Bank out scored Brainerd 19-8 in the third quarter and held on to beat Brainerd 58-49.  Red Bank's Shelby Romans had 16 points and Brainerd's Kimja Carter had 29. 

In the other girls semifinal, Signal Mountain held off Tyner 48-36. Olivia Koontz led Signal with 19 points.  She scored 10 of her 16 points in the third quarter. 

The consolation games will be played on Monday and the championships on Tuesday.
