Daniel Joseph Schad, 70, of Decatur passed away March 3, 2018 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and had been a resident of Decatur for the past four years, coming from Riceville.
Daniel was the son of the late Melvin and Rose Marie Schad. He loved driving to explore historical sites, doing things around the house, sitting by the campfire and especially spending time with his dog, Tucker.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Cheryl Schad.
Survivors include a son, Daniel Joseph Schad, Jr. of California; two daughters, Laurie Reid of Niota and Stacy O'Connell of Charleston; two sisters, Pam Fuson of Nevada and Tamara Pizzollo of Washington; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; life-long buddies, Ned, David and Tom; and his faithful fury companion, Tucker.
No formal services are planned at this time. The family will be having a private memorial gathering at a later date.
