William Lee Harrison, 88, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on March 15, 2024, peacefully in his home surrounded by family and friends.

His friends called him Bill, but the people who loved him the most knew him as “Honey”, “Dad”, and “Papaw”. Born in Morristown, Tn., on July 9, 1935, Bill was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Combustion Engineering after over 40 years of employment. He was a faithful member of Alpine Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, choir member, and Sunday School teacher during his 50 plus year membership.

In addition, Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His hobbies included golf, fishing, gardening, working on his lawnmower, and eating Little Debbies. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family for Sunday afternoon dinners, family vacations, and holiday celebrations. Bill was a man of integrity, wisdom, and generosity. All who knew him loved and respected him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Amos and Lucille Harrison, and three brothers, Dan, Bob, and A.R. Harrison.

Bill will be greatly missed by his wife of 68 years, Ann, his children Greg (Lynn) Harrison, Cindy (Lori) Harrison, and Carol (David) Smith, his granddaughters Emily (Brian) Arnold and Caitlin (Jeff) Pohlman, and his great grandchildren, William Gage Arnold and Peyton and Parker Pohlman.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 19, at Hamilton Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. and continue on Wednesday, March 20, from 11 a.m. until the funeral service time at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be sent to Alpine Baptist Church, 4720 Stagg Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415.
