James Russell Grant
James Russell Grant, of Rossville, Georgia, was received by family and friends at heaven’s gates on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
Russell attended Central High School. He was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church. He was employed at Combustion as a welder. Later he was an owner/operator for long haul trucking. Russell opened two convenience stores in Lakeview, Ga., named Russell’s, that he owned and worked at for over 15 years. He enjoyed both participating and watching racing at local tracks. Russell will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Elsie Grant.
Russell will be missed by his brother, Charles (Linda) Grant, of Ooltewah; his sister, Rachel Johnston, of Chattanooga; and nieces, Belinda Steinmetz, of Ooltewah, and Jennifer Johnston, of Chattanooga. He also had many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 20, at 3 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Barclay officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at North Chapel.
