Wilbur Dean Johnson
Wilbur Dean Johnson, 93, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born on Feb. 18, 1931, in Springfield, Tn. to the late Omer and Annie Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a 1949 graduate of Central High School.
Mr. Johnson was a longtime member of East Brainerd Church of Christ. He also attended Rossville Church of Christ where he served many years as an elder.
His brother, Omer Lasley Johnson, Jr. preceded him in death.
He was retired from Frost Cutlery after 20 years of service.
Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years, Myrtis Ruth Johnson; son, Kent (Deana) Johnson of Cleveland, Tn.; daughters, Karen (Courtney) McInturff of McDonald, Tn.; Kimberly (Barry) Cantey of Signal Mtn., Tn.; brother, Thomas (Nancy) Johnson; grandchildren, Braden (Rachel) McInturff, Trevor (Nadine) McInturff, Sarah (Casey) Chelf, Cloie (Sam) Parfitt, Annie Johnson, and Mollie (Kaz) Sawyer; great-grandchildren, Kylie Rae Chelf, Kennedy Ruth Chelf, Hunter Moss Chelf, Hadley Ann Chelf, Hanna Marie McInturff, Katie Grace McInturff, Sadie June McInturff, and Dean Savage McInturff; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 21, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 22, at 2:30 p.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel with Minister Chris Barnett, Minister Bud Wooten, and Tommy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
