On April 20, 2024, WTCI PBS is hosting “Be My Neighbor Day”, a free, family-friendly community celebration from 10am to 2pm at 7540 Bonnyshire Drive in Chattanooga, featuring activities and PBS KIDS characters. The event is sponsored by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee.
“So many of us have fond memories of Mister Rogers Neighborhood and the valuable lessons we learned about what it means to be a kind and caring neighbor. Those values live on in Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, and we’re pleased to celebrate that spirit of community at our inaugural ‘Be My Neighbor Day’ event,” said Bob Culkeen, President and CEO of WTCI PBS.
Joining WTCI PBS in “Be My Neighbor Day” are community partners such as the Creative Discovery Museum, Hamilton County Schools, Art 120, the City of Chattanooga, Chattanooga Public Library, and the Hamilton County Health Department.
The event will also include appearances from Daniel Tiger and Molly of Denali, as well as a petting zoo and a real, working trolley for children to explore.
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee issued a proclamation declaring April 20th as “Be My Neighbor Day” in Tennessee.
