LaVantez Knight To Global Prep

Tuesday, July 03, 2012

After withdrawing committment to Salem International University, LaVantez Knight has gotten confirmation from Randy Lee and decided to play basketball for Global Prep, a recruiting and athlete development organization in partnership with TTU. The 6'1" point guard also received invitations for opportunities to play professional basketball to participate in combines and tryouts with teams in the American Basketball Association (ABA) and Eurobasket Summer League(ESL).

LaVantez played for the Howard School this past season as a senior and also played for Hixson High School and Berean Academy in previous years. In middle school he played for 21st Century Academy.

Knight averaged right around 17.2 points,10 rebounds, and 2.9 assists while playing in high school varsity games since freshman year. As a sophomore Knight lead Berean Academy to TAACS East Regional Championship and  first TAACS State Tournament appearance in the school's history averaging double-double statistics in points and rebounds with 19 and 13.

Knight was also the nation's freethrow leader as a sophomore according to MaxPreps.com. Knight has attended four high schools, cut from Hixson team, ganged by more than 12 people at East Chattanooga Recreation Center over a pick-up game, cut from Brainerd team, and without a stable place to live all in the year of 2011.The situation contributed to him not being declared eligible by TSSAA to play varsity for Hustlin' Tigers until Jan. 3rd. 2012, which also hurt in the college recruiting process while once being on the radar of Miami (FL), Lafayette, and NJIT.

Scandals At Home And Abroad

Since my hip operation and time in recovery, I have tried to set aside things that are insignificant to me and to average Americans. Don't get me wrong here. What these people are doing (Bengahzi) is despicable be they left or right wing, and they have been doing it (both sides) for a long time. But the dirty deeds themselves carry little weight as to what they mean to you or me. ... (click for more)
