The Second Annual Roadrunner Blue/Silver Basketball Scrimmage, sponsored by the men’s basketball booster club, will be held this Wednesday, at Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center.

A booster club meet and greet will take place at 6 p.m. “This will be a great meet and greet opportunity for our boosters and fans,” said Roadrunner Coach Tony Ingle. “This will be the perfect time for pictures and autographs. All activities, including the scrimmage, are free to the public.”

The scrimmage should tip-off at around 7:10 p.m. “We will have a couple of our players address the crowd just before tip-off,” said Ingle.  Senior point guard Sean Tate will be one of the speakers. “The remainder of the team is praying they will not be the second speaker,” Ingle added. “If time permits we might be able to have a little Q & A.”

Assistant Coaches John Redman and Tony Ingle Jr. will each coach a team during the scrimmage. “This provides an opportunity for our players to get back in front of a crowd and work out some game day jitters. It should be a fun night for everyone and we hope to have a large crowd.”

The Roadrunners will tip-off the regular season at Life University at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 10th.

The first regular season home basketball game will take place on Tuesday, November 11th, at 7:30 p.m. when the Flying Fleet of NCAA Division II Erkskine College of Anderson, SC come to the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center.

The trade center will have a new look this year. The athletic department and the trade center are in the process of changing out the orange seats that have adorned the arena for a long time. New navy blue seats, complete with cup holders, have been installed in much of the arena. Current plans call for most or all of the remaining seats to be replaced in time for the 2015-2016 season.

Dalton State celebrated the return to athletics last season with a stunning 26-4 basketball season.
