Men Host Georgia Revolution Saturday

The Chattanooga FC men's soccer team traveled to Nashville on Friday and earned a key 2-0 win over Nashville FC.  

Luke Winter scored the men's first goal in the 27th minute off a header. 

Leo De Smedt scored the second goal in the 84th minute. 

Greg Hartley earned the shutout in the goal. 

The men improve to 4-2-1 overall and will host Georgia Revolution Saturday at Finley Stadium at 7:30 p.m. 

The Chattanooga women's team hosted Alabama FC and earned a 3-0 win.  Anna Hoffman, Jaimee Cooper and Brittany Reid had goals for the women.  

The women are now 3-3 overall and will play at Georgia Revolution next Sunday.  

Moc Golfers Tied For Second At Palmetto Intercollegiate

The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team opened with four-over par 292 in the Palmetto Intercollegiate first round. That puts the ladies tied with Coastal Carolina, two shots behind Ole Miss at +2.   Sophomore Monica San Juan is tied for first individually at 2-under 70. Lee Women Win, Men Tie Delta State

Howard Simmons, 47, Shot And Killed In St. Elmo Monday Morning; Police Interview Person Of Interest

Howard Simmons, 47, was shot and killed in St. Elmo Monday morning. Police said they had interviewed a person of interest in the slaying. Chattanooga Police at 8:30 a.m. responded to a person shot at the 5000 block of Florida Ave. Upon police arrival the victim, Simmons, had already succumbed to his injuries. Erlanger To Open Cancer Center On Gunbarrel Road At East Campus

Work is set to begin soon on construction of a new Cancer Center by Erlanger Health System at its Gunbarrel Road East Campus.
