Cleveland State's Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration Cancelled

  • Monday, March 2, 2015

Cleveland State Community College had to cancel its annual Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss celebration on Saturday, March 7. The event, sponsored by the Early Childhood Education program and the CSCC Library, is organized by students in the language and literacy development class.

Suzanne Wood, Coordinator and Associate Professor for Early Childhood Education, stated, “It saddens me greatly for both the college and the community that we have had to cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances, but hope to plan an even bigger and better event next year!”

“We are proud of the positive impact that the Dr.

Seuss event has had on literacy education in our community, and it is with a heavy heart that we cancel it,” stated Dr. Robert Brandon, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences. “The recent severe weather and other events outside of our control, however, necessitate its cancellation. We are confident that the event will return next year, and we look forward to working with our community on other events in the upcoming year.”
