ReGenerate high school arts leadership group  will present Ignite, a showcase of talent from local high school students on Saturday, April 11 at 6 p.m. at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre. A continuation of last year’s Let Beauty Awaken project, proceeds from Ignite will support a grant program, administered by ReGenerate, that will provide music, visual arts, theatre and dance supplies to Hamilton County elementary and middle schools.

Last year ReGenerate awarded $14,000 in grants to 14 schools in Hamilton County including Alpine Crest Elementary, Big Ridge Elementary, Brown Academy, Dalewood Middle School, East Lake Elementary, Girls Leadership Academy, Hardy Elementary, Harrison Elementary, Lakeside Elementary, North Hamilton Elementary, Ooltewah Elementary, Red Bank Elementary, Wallace Smith Elementary, and Soddy Elementary.
The grant recipients were selected by a panel of high school students from the ReGenerate group with ArtsBuild staff serving as administrators of the process.

Teachers in Hamilton County elementary and middle schools are encouraged to apply for the grant. 2015 grant applications are available at http://artsbuild.com/arts-education/regenerate. Applications are due by May 8.

Doors open for Ignite at 6 p.m. for refreshments and a silent auction and performances begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased online at https://secure.qgiv.com/for/aaogc/event/590810/. Reservations can also be made by calling ArtsBuild at 423-756-2787, or by email to artsbuild@artsbuild.com.

The 2014-2015 ReGenerate group includes 28 students representing 11 local public and private high schools. Jessica Tolbert from Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences and Temple Glascock from Signal Mountain High School serve as co-presidents of the group.
