Chandler Lamar Clowdus
Chandler Lamar Clowdus, 83 of Ringgold, Georgia, died on Sunday, October 12, 2014.
He was born on June 8, 1931 in Oneonta, Al. Mr. Clowdus owned and operated several businesses and developed subdivisions and commercial properties in both Tennessee and Georgia. He enjoyed coaching baseball and softball for many years. He loved working on his farm and loved cattle ranching. His greatest joy in his life was his wife, children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy Franklin Clowdus and Jerry Wayne Clowdus; sisters, Mary Nell Wilson and Annette Wyatt; and parents, Chandler and Maude Clowdus.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Clowdus; children, Ricky (Patti) Clowdus, Mike (Lori) Clowdus and Marlene (Tim) Erwin; five grandchildren, Hailey Clowdus, Hunter Clowdus, Emme Clowdus, Eston Clowdus and Kyli Erwin; brother Gene Clowdus, West Blocton, Al.; sisters, Elen Maddox, Columbia, S.C., and Evelyn Smith, Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, in the funeral home chapel with Larry Henry and Mark Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Parker’s Gap Cemetery.
