Adam Moss, 5th grade teacher at Arnold Memorial Elementary School, was named the Southeast Region Teacher of the Year for 5th through 8th grades. Mr. Moss was selected by a group of regional judges. This is the third consecutive year that Cleveland City Schools has a finalist for the Tennessee Teacher of the Year.
Mr. Moss has been a 5th grade teacher at Arnold Memorial Elementary School for six years. He has served Arnold on the School Leadership Team and as a Math Mentor-Teacher for new teachers. Mr. Moss is a member of the inaugural cohort of the Educator Fellowship with the State Collaborative on Reforming Education (S.C.O.R.E.) and served as a Math Core Coach Trainer for the Tennessee Department of Education. Mr. Moss sponsors the competitive Math Olympiad program for outstanding 4th and 5th grade students in the Cleveland and Bradley County area.
Dr. Martin Ringstaff, Director of Cleveland City Schools, said, “We are extremely proud of Adam Moss; he is an exceptional educator. Adam’s command of the classroom creates an environment that allows students to excel. He teaches with passion and dedication to all students.”
Mr. Moss will now compete for the Tennessee Teacher of the Year which is announced in October.
