Barbara Casey Stevens, 84, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017, surrounded by all of her family.

She was a longtime active member of St. John United Methodist Church where she enjoyed being involved in all aspects of church activities. She was a recent member of Silverdale Baptist Church. Barbara loved gardening and taking care of all her many animals. “Nonna” loved spending time with all of her grandchildren. She was a graduate of Central High School of Phenix City, Al., with many accolades; such as valedictorian, editor of the yearbook and Miss Central.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lillian Casey; brothers, Sonny, Billy and Ralph Casey and a sister, Mildred Mills.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Thomas N. Stevens; children, Becky (Barry) Marks, Rusty (Christina) Watson, Brian (Mollie) Watson, Chuck (Kim) Stevens, Matt Stevens, Becky Mills, Jennifer Warner and Melanie Hessen; grandchildren, Bradley (Malori) Marks, Michael (Beth) Marks, Jeffrey (Caroline) Marks, Jessica Fillman, Rebecca (Zach) Hamid, Kurtis Stevens and Luke Stevens; great-grandchildren, Neely Fillman, Abby Fillman and Vivien Marks.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Dr # 22, Chattanooga, TN 37421 or a charity of your choice.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 1, from 4:30-7 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 2, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tony Walliser officiating. A committal service to follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
