Person Dies In Accident After Leading Authorities In Pursuit

A person died after leading authorities in two pursuits, which began in Chattanooga, and ended in Catoosa County.

Chattanooga Police personnel responded Sunday afternoon to the 2000 block of Gunbarrel Road for a reported overdose. Upon arrival of first responders, the person fled the scene.

A short pursuit occurred; however, CPD eventually called off the pursuit.

The vehicle continued out East Brained Road where HCSO deputies attempted a stop. Once again, the vehicle fled and travelled south on Ooltewah Ringgold Road.

HCSO deputies pursued the vehicle into Catoosa County where it crashed.

The person was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Georgia State Patrol will be the investigating agency as the crash occurred in Georgia.
