James Harry Slaughter, Jr., 77, passed away on October 17, 2020. 

He was retired from the automotive business and loved to fish and golf.  James loved to laugh and was full of life.  He adored family gatherings, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and will be dearly missed.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Slaughter; parents, James “Happy” and Beatrice Slaughter, and brothers, Gail and Mike Slaughter.

He is survived by his daughters, Yvette (Brent) Morgan and Diana (Scott) McLaughlin; grandchildren, Jesse (Emily) Morgan, Abigail (Matt) Lockhart, Bailey (Lauren) Morgan, Jasmine Milsaps, Dalton Milsaps, and Justice McLaughlin, as well as six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 12-2 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home at Highway 58.  A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel.

 

James will be laid to rest in Harrison Cemetery.
