Roy Pilkey
Roy Lee Pilkey, age 83, went to be with the Lord on November 27, 2023, surrounded by his wife and family.
Roy was born to the late Roy and Nellie Pilkey. He retired from Plastics Industries in 1999 and was known for his farm work at Pilkey’s Darkside Angus Farm in Ten Mile, Tn., and his store was named Pilkey’s Dog Supply Store. Roy was recognized for obtaining many awards while hunting for coon, rabbit, fox, and squirrel. Mr. Pilkey was deeply religious, having attended Decatur Church of God for many years.
He is proceeded in death by his parents; son: Tony Ray Pilkey; brothers: Grover Cleve Pilkey, Jimmy Pilkey, JC Pilkey, and Jeff Pilkey; grandson Jeffery Scott Pilkey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Edna Pilkey; brother: Gene (Kathy) Pilkey of Ga.; sister: Patsy Pilkey Ramsey of Sweetwater; children Cleve (Edith) Pilkey, Timmy (Dorothy) Pilkey, Brenda (Rick) Linebarger, Michael (Linda Ray) Pilkey all of Ten Mile, Tn., Karen (Mike) Lawson of Birchwood, Tn.; grandchildren: Shasta Miller, Colby Pilkey, Chris (Diana) Elrod, Sherry Simore, Hailee Pilkey, April Hester, Terry Hester, Jonathan Linebarger, Jon Pilkey, Andy (Robin) Pilkey, Charles Pilkey, Josh Ward, Acie Ward, Christina McPeek Pilkey, Jessica Rhodes, Hope (Matthew) Bohannon, Cheyenne (Jeremiah) Cannon, Skylar Crutchfield, Austin Guffey, Amanda Shrik; great grandchildren: Bryston, Ariel, Kaynen, Blake, Madison, Bently, Aaliyah, Shawn, Troy, Hannah, Brianna, Alyssa, Danielle, Charlie, Roy, Jaden, Dylan, Destin, Stanley (Loren), Michael, Cheresa (Chris), Terry James, Bentley, Ashlynn, Layne, and one unborn great granddaughter to come; life long friend: Cotton Sewell; Several great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30 in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Frank Wright and the Rev. Timmy Crowder officiating. Interment will follow in the Pilkey Family Cemetery in Ten Mile, TN.
The Family will receive friends from 12 till 2 p.m., prior to the service.
