Appalachian Sounds - Randall Franks & Caleb Lewis
Appalachian entertainer/actor Randall Franks, famed for his role as "Officer Randy Goode" on TV’s "In the Heat of the Night," unveils his latest project, the music series "Appalachian Sounds." In the series, Mr. Franks introduces viewers to an array of traditional Appalachian music, encompassing fiddle tunes, banjo picking and heartfelt mountain, country and bluegrass songs.
"Whether you're in the mood for inspiration or just want to tap your toes, 'Appalachian Sounds' has something for every music lover," said Mr.
Franks.
Each episode features Mr. Franks alongside another talented musician in a cozy, intimate studio setting, performing live music.
Taped at UCTV studios in Fort Oglethorpe, in collaboration with Judy O'Neal and the UCTV team, "Appalachian Sounds" aims to highlight and nurture young talent.
UCTV airs “Appalachian Sounds” locally each month on the first Thursday at 6 p.m. and the second and fourth Tuesdays at 7 p.m. on UCTV at Comcast 265, Charter 198 and Dalton Utilities Optilink 133 in the Dalton area. Everyone can Stream it live at https://uctvlive.com/streaming.html.
"I'm thrilled to showcase the young musicians I’ve mentored over the years through the Share America Foundation, Inc., particularly via our Pearl and Floyd Franks Scholarship or Americana Youth of Southern Appalachia," Mr. Franks said.
The series has already recorded performances with artists such as Ryan Stinson, Dawson Wright, Colton Brown and Caleb Lewis from the Hollywood Hillbilly Jamboree, alongside Carter Family stylist Logan Puryear, Landon Fitzpatrick and Arron Ramey of the Landon Fitzpatrick Band, and Cody Harvey from Mountain Cove Bluegrass Band.
The webisodes of "Appalachian Sounds" began airing in January, with new episodes released weekly on Randall Franks TV on YouTube, Rumble and Brighteon.
