Wade Lawhon, 68, of Ooltewah, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 12, 2017.
Wade was a United States Navy veteran who proudly served on the USS Sample in Vietnam. He was supportive of his community, serving as a Big Brother for many years in the Big Brother Big Sister organization as well as was a valued member of the Walker County Rescue Squad. Wade was an avid outdoorsman and marksman who enjoyed mountain biking, spelunking, archery, motorcycle riding and camping. Wade was a thoughtful, giving and loving man especially caring of his family, never missing a birthday or special event.
He will be greatly missed by his mother, Sybil Bohannon, sisters, Dian Lawhon (B.G. Smith), Karen Jones, and Nancy (C.J.) Hebert, as well as his niece, Heather McCommon, and nephews, Dr. Glenn Burns, Derek Williams, and Luke Jones.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
