James Anthony Stanton, Jr. passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019.

He was a member of Harrison United Methodist Church and a United States Marine Corps veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Anthony and Elsie Woodworth Stanton; brother, Michael Stanton; sister, Marlene Davidson; nephews, Ricky Stringer and Kurt Davidson.

Mr. Stanton is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathy; sons, Shane Anthony and Jason Allen Stanton; sisters, Sylvia Stringer and Pamela Stanton; nephews, Brad and Chris Stanton and Hunter and Will Shaw; niece, Kim Watkins; mother-in-law, Virginia Davis Shaw; brother-in-law, Steve (Michelle) Shaw as well as several great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 17, from 11 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home at Highway 58.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Charles Ensminger officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Harrison United Methodist Church.
