Richard Alan Tant, Jr.

Richard Alan Tant, Jr., 35, of Rock Spring, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2026.

Born on Sept. 3, 1990, in Ooltewah, Tn., Richard was the son of the late Richard and Kimberly Tant.

Richard was a 2008 graduate of Ooltewah High School and a member of Ooltewah United Methodist Church.

Richard was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed carpentry, welding, cooking, off-roading at Prentice Cooper, and spelunking in local caves and caverns. More than anything, he loved his family and enjoyed making them laugh and smile.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandmother, Barbara Strickland and a cousin, Michael Boyd.

He is survived by his sisters, Amberlea Tant and Pamela Brooks; his daughter, Abbigail “Abby” Cranmore; his niece, Maryah Brooks; his nephew, Braedyn Brooks, and his aunt, Angela Boyd.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
