Taking the lead on lap 61, Brandon Overton of Evans, Ga., made the winning pass on Brandon Shepard for the 27th annual "Dream 100" Thursday night at Tony Stewart's Eldora Speedway in Ohio.
The $127,000 payday is the third richest Dirt Late Model race ever contested behind the "Eldora Million" of 2001 and the recent $150,000 Dirt Track World Championship, also contested in Ohio.
Second place Tim McCreadie of New York collected a $100,000 payday with Florida's Kyle Bronson third. Chickamauga's Dale McDowell was in the mix battling within the top five the entire race and would finish fourth just ahead of Shepard. Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville finished seventh and West Tennessee's Mike Marlar was ninth overall. NASCAR's Kyle Larson was 13th, the first racer one lap down to the leader, as Tennessean Jimmy Owens finished 22nd overall.
Friday and Saturday see prelims and feature for the 2020 edition of the "Dream 100" contested with Saturday's 100 lapper paying $126,000 to the winner.
