Ford, Barbara Ann Frady (Athens)

Barbara Ann Frady Ford, 75, departed this life on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at a Chattanooga healthcare facility. Born on Feb. 23, 1947 to the late Henry and Juanita Frady, she was a lifelong resident of Meigs County, and a member of the Family Worship Center in Athens.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Crystal Sledge; grandson, Christian Pope; sisters, Wanda Johnson and Brenda Frady; and brother, Tommy Frady.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Karen Peterson (Jason), Cheryl Blair, Tony Pope and Daniel Sledge; brother, Terry Dodd (Robbie); as well as nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Life and Homegoing for Barbara Ann Frady Ford will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 16 from the Athens Chapel of Companion Funeral Home, with Brother Guinn Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour on Monday.
