After winning the Chattanooga Women’s Golf Association individual stroke play championship in 2021 and 2022, Lindsey Hollis was determined to prove that last year’s runner-up finish was an aberration.

The Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club member did just that, winning the 2024 title with a final score of 12-over 154 on Thursday at Chattanooga Golf & Country Club. Having recently completed her collegiate career at Wofford College, Hollis posted a final-round 81 on the heels of an impressive score of 73 on the first day to win the CWGA Individual City Championship by three shots.

Cora Mount of WindStone Golf Club finished second in the Championship Division at 15-over 157 after carding a final-round 74 that featured four birdies, while Valleybrook Golf and Country Club’s Amy Long – a two-time champion herself – placed third with a two-day total of 21-over 163.

Valleybrook’s Linda Carter was the Senior Division champion as her total of 25-over 167 was two shots better than Patty Donahoo of Council Fire Club. Susan Thurman of Valleybrook claimed third place with an aggregate of 31-over 173.

Karen Burns of Signal Mountain was crowned the Open Division champion. Her score of 13-over 155 was 11 shots clear of runner-up Jennifer Noonan of Black Creek, who posted a final tally of 24-over 166. Defending champion Meg Buchanan of Black Creek finished third at 27-over 169.

Other flight winners in the Open Division gross scoring were Lindsay Berry of Black Creek in the second flight (32-over 174) and Michele Purchase of Signal Mountain in the third flight (48-over 190).

Carlene Ryon of Council Fire claimed the second flight of the Senior Division gross scoring at 39-over 181, while Kathy Vaughn of Brainerd (42-over 184) was the third flight winner.

In the net scoring competition of the Open Division, Burns (5-under 137) won the first flight, Kim Webb of WindStone (9-over 151) claimed the second flight and Purchase (16-over 158) took home the third flight title.

The Senior Division net winners were Deedee Raulston of Signal Mountain (5-over 147) in the first flight, Patty Jones of Chattanooga Golf & Country Club (14-over 156) in the second flight and Valleybrook’s Judy Acuff (26-over 168) in the third flight.
