Neva Clark, McKenna Faychak, Grace Frigaard, Maddie Lecik and Madelina Myers-Osband were each honored by the Ohio Valley Conference on Friday with the league announcing its Academic Medal of Honor recipients for the 2023-24 school year.
The honors, which are awarded annually by the OVC, are given out to student-athletes who achieve the highest grade point average in an OVC-sponsored sport for that given season. The UTC quintet all finished their 2024 semesters holding perfect 4.0 GPAs, making them five of the 311 total student-athletes honored by the conference this year.
Neva Clark capped off an illustrious season in which she captured her second consecutive OVC Player of the Year award by notching her fifth straight semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Clark is currently aiming to receive her Bachelor of Science in Exercise & Health Science from Chattanooga, and she currently possesses a 3.842 cumulative GPA.
McKenna Faychak wrapped up yet another semester of impressive performances on the court and in the classroom for the Mocs, with the sophomore now having logged a perfect 4.0 in each of her first four semesters at UTC. She is planning to earn her degree from Chattanooga in Exercise & Health Science as well, with her 4.0 cumulative GPA ranking the highest on the beach volleyball team.
Grace Frigaard marks one of six senior graduates for Chattanooga beach volleyball, as Frigaard was able to graduate in three years from UTC with degrees in Sociology as well as Criminal Justice. Frigaard finished her career with the Mocs having carried a cumulative GPA of 3.867 with her 2024 spring semester marking her fourth consecutive semester having logged a 4.0 GPA.
Maddie Lecik saw her sophomore season come to a close with the Forest, Virginia, native notching her second 4.0 semester since joining the Mocs. A Criminal Justice major, Lecik currently holds a 3.908 cumulative GPA as she reaches the halfway point of her college career.
Madelina Myers-Osband finished up her collegiate career with the Mocs by grabbing one last 4.0 GPA for the Mocs this past spring. She has now graduated from UTC with her degree in Communication & Media Studies, wrapping up her undergraduate career with a 3.365 cumulative GPA.
The Ohio Valley Conference will announce its Commissioner’s Honor Roll on Monday, August 12, concluding the league’s academic postseason honors for the 2023-24 season.
