The Sound of Tennessee barbershop chorus will headline the May 19 Red Back Hymnal Singing at the Hullander Farm in Apison.

The event always starts at 6 p.m. and is free but a love offering will be taken.

The chorus is made up of 40 members from around the area.  They are raising money for their upcoming trip to Salt Lake City on July 4.  Official Dave Abercrombie Jr. said the chorus is one of 30 around the world invited to participate In the international competition.

The barbershop chorus will lead in hymn favorites like “Just a closer walk”, “Victory in Jesus” and “How Great Thou Art”.

Bill and Linda Hullander have been hosting the monthly Red Back Hymnal Singings for three years to promote the preservation of church hymns.
