Mildred L. Boyd, our beloved mother, passed in peace on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.

She was born in Chattanooga on April 14, 1929 to the late James and Anna Elizabeth Phillips. She was preceded in death by Albert Boyd, her husband of 54 years. Also preceding her were her brothers, Roy, Hubert, Daniel, Emmett and Winifred Phillips; sisters, Grace Partin and Irene McKeel; and grandson, Michael Davidson.

She is survived by her sister, Ruth Thompson of Chattanooga, we, her children, Kathy (Dan) Jacobson, Eugene (Linda), Wayne (Becky), David (Joyce) and Richard (Wanda) Boyd will remember her for her encouragement in our endeavors, the guidance she provided and will miss her regular calls checking in on her family.

Her grandchildren, Corey Davidson, Michelle Delony, Danny, Shane, Steve, Brian, Carla, Josh, James, Camey and Collin Boyd, Carey Trachian, Heather Jenkins, Melissa Kreider, and Sherry Murphy remember the large family gatherings with food feasts, games, stories and lots of laughter.

She was also excited as the family continued to grow when the great grands Brianna, Amber, Hunter, Madeline, Eli, Aidan, Jacob, Ben, Michael, Gabriel, Ashlyn, Shailyn, Caleb, Lara, Jonah, Jazalyn, Jazen, Jaise, Alex, Amelia (Curly Top), Delaney, Jagger and Lake joined the family.

Mom had a sense of adventure and love for traveling. After retirement from BCBST, she frequently let us know she was packed and could be ready to go on short notice.

A private graveside service will be held at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Reverend Caleb Bolton of Daisy Church of God officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Senior Saints at 3219 Ardian Trail, Chattanooga, TN 37412 or Hospice of Chattanooga in gratitude for the excellent care provided.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
