Condra Wendell Snyder
Condra Wendell Snyder, known by his friends as “Cat”, 82, from Hixson, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022. He was born on Sept. 16, 1940, in Dayton, Tennessee, to the late Jack and Claudine Snyder.
Wendell was a wonderful loving and kind man who never met a stranger. He attended and was a Greeter at Hixson First Baptist Church and was the sweetest man which they all referred to him as. Everyone that met him loved him, which was a testimony and his legacy he left behind. He attended Hixson High School, and then served in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic. After, he started his journey in several careers. Wendell was a machinist at Lockheed, an Operator at Dupont, a sheet metal Mechanic at Lorain and an Assembly Mechanic at Card Monroe Corp. What he favored most was his last job as Golf Cart Manager at Bear Trace. He loved being out on the course and keeping up with everyone there. Wendell was also an avid par golfer for over 61 years. He loved everything golf and it was his main hobby. This is a man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Jack, Ronald, Richard and Jerry Snyder and one sister, Rachel Johnson.
Survivors include his children, Alan Snyder and Susanne Loggins, brother, James Johnson, sisters, Gloria Whalen and Carolyn Bynum, grandchildren, Mackenzie Loggins, Haley Snyder, Garrett Loggins and Zachary Snyder, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Hamilton Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Visitation will continue on Thursday, Oct. 6, at Hixson First Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at Hixson First Baptist Church Thursday, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery Thursday, Oct. 6, at 12:30 p.m.
