Dora M. Smith, 81, passed away on May 18, 2022, in Chattanooga. 

 

She was born to the late Mr. Willie M. Smith and Mrs. Essie M. Smith on July 26, 1941, in Goldsboro, NC. Dora worked as a nurse for 35 years at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Durham, NC. After moving to Chattanooga, she became a member of New Life Seventh Day Adventist Church. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

 

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, son, Steven (Lynette) Smith, of Chattanooga; grandson, Anthony Smith, Wheaton, MD; two granddaughters, Jasmine Smith, Orlando, FL, and Jania Smith, Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Elassie Hodges, Upper Marlboro, MD, and Virginia Smith, Capitol Heights, MD; one brother, Willie M. (Sherry) Smith, Jr., Houston TX; a host of nieces nephews cousins and special friend Sheila Alston.

 

Public viewing will be on Tuesday, May 24, starting at 10 a.m. at New life Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2099 E Main Street, followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service.

 

Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
