The bickering between the Nashville Metro Council and the Tennessee General Assembly over the selection of the Music City for the 2024 Republican (GOP) presidential convention (ultimately won by Milwaukee) may provide a unique opportunity for our hometown.
It has been vividly demonstrated that the Scenic City politicos have great experience in getting free grant money from both the legislature in Nashville and Congress in Washington.
Whether our local politicians should apply for either the 2028 GOP convention or the Democrat gathering of the faithful to replace President Biden since he will be ineligible to lead the nation after his anticipated eight years of progress (?) is beyond the knowledge of this writer.
It should be pointed out that the Dynamo of Dixie has many advantages over the homebase of Printer’s Alley and Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge.
However, when the author commenced to list the various elements of comparison of the Best/Worse features of the number 2 (Nashville) and 4 (Choo Choo City) ranked communities in the Volunteer State the number became too cumbersome and lengthy.
Therefore, it is respectfully suggested that our progressive leaders consider applying for the 2028 Democrat Presidential Convention in Gig City.
(If all of the positive media press releases become reality and not just to benefit a small group (you know who I mean) why not dream big?)
P.S. As one additional benefit of positive thinking it is respectfully suggested that our present traffic jams on Interstate 24 exceed those of our bigger brother (sister, etc.) on Interstate 40 and have a great opportunity to become much larger before 2028!
