Beaty, Myra Gravitt

Myra Gravitt Beaty, 62, of Chattanooga, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at a local hospital.

She was a native of Whitwell, Tenn., and a graduate of the University of Chattanooga. Following graduation, she had a long and successful career as a medical librarian, first at Erlanger and then at Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Red Bank Presbyterian Church. She was a lifelong quilter and also enjoyed arts and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Gravitt.

Survivors include her mother, Violet Gravitt of Whitwell; husband, William P. "Pat" Beaty of Chattanooga ; sisters, Lois Bailey and husband, Mike of Mt. Juliet, and Kim Hanafusa of Nashville; her brothers, Glen Gravitt and wife, Deb of Whitwell, and Loyd Gravitt and wife, Lisa of Dothan, Ala.; daughters, Brooke Marsh and husband, Bruce, and Amy Sherman and husband, David, all of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Daniel and Heather Marsh of Chattanooga.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel, with the Rev. Everett Gossett officiating.

Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Thursday.
