Hixson Boys, Brainerd Girls Win District 6 A-AA Tennis Titles

Hixson's 3-Peat: The Wildcats boys tennis team has won 22 straight district matches the last three years and have won the 6 A-AA title, 2013-14-15.

 It’s a three-peat for coach Raul Fernandez's Hixson tennis team who have won 22 straight district 6 A-AA matches over three years and Brainerd can now add girls tennis to its long history of champions as the Panther tennis team won the district team championship in only their second year of existence.

 

District 6 A-AA Individual Tournament

Tuesday Results – The first two rounds of the District 6 A-AA individual tournament were played Tuesday at the Brainerd Tennis Complex

Wednesday – 2 p.m.

at Brainerd … Semis in singles and doubles followed by the finals as the top two in singles and doubles advance to the region.

Tennis and Wrestling: Former Red Bank wrestler Gary Paradis has two children – son Gary and daughter Megan – have both have advanced to today’s doubles semis … Paradis-Camp in the boys won 8-0 and 8-2 and face No. 1 seed Phillips-Goforth (Hixson) in the semis … Paradis-Davis had a first round bye the won 8-3 in the quarters. They also face a No.1 seed in the Canty sisters from Brainerd in the semis.

Most to Advance: Hixson and Red Bank each have six in the semis (two singles, four doubles), while Hixson has six (three singles, three doubles) and Brainerd (one singles one doubles) and Central (two singles) have two each.
