Charles Elgin Adams, 72, died on October 19, 2016, at his residence in Washington, D.C.

He was the son of the late George Elgin and Maggie Lackey Adams. He graduated from Hill High School in Walker County. He was employed at U.S. Pipe and Fisher Auto Body Shop. He retired as a master auto body technician at Darcars Sport Cars and Collision Center in Silver Spring, MD.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie Mae Adams; daughter, Janie Adams; sons, Gregory Adams, Edward Milsap, James Adams, Marcus Harris and Leon Harris; sisters, Charlotte (Thomas) Gills, Helen Adams, Jonice Adams, and Jannie Adams; sister-in-law, Belinda Gleason; aunt, Mae Lackey; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special friend, Miss LaViolet McReynolds; a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel with Gregory Adams as eulogist. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.

Arrangements will be announced by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
