James Conner Fisher, 89, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

Jim graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a degree in engineering. He was very active as president of Sigma Chi fraternity. At UT he met the love of his life, Nancy McCullough. They were married 61 years before her passing in 2019.

Jim was an avid sportsman. He raced boats as a teen and again as an adult, building engines and boats that his son Jay would drive. At one time, he had the quickest outboard powered boat in the world. A world class skeet shooter, he traveled extensively to retain that title. He loved to hunt, fish and be on the lake. At one time, he owned Hixson Marina. This kept him busy in all aspects of boating. He could build or fix anything.

He was a fine Christian man and a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Jay Fisher of Calhoun, Ga.; his daughter, Amy Arnold (Mark); and his grandchildren, Mary Grace and Emily Arnold and Conner and Andrew Fisher.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5001 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tn. 37343 from 3-4 p.m. on Friday, May 3. The memorial service to celebrate Jim’s life will follow at 4 p.m at the church.

Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike, Soddy Daisy, Tn. 37379.
