UT Extension will be hosting canning and freezing classes this summer.
Canning classes are $25. Participants will learn the equipment needed, where to find safe recipes, the latest technology and some easy methods to preserve food.
Canning classes are scheduled for:
- June 19 10 a.m.-noon;
- June 21 1-3 p.m.;
- June 25 5:30-7:30 p.m. and
- June 29 10 a.m.-noon.
Freezing classes are $20. Participants will learn techniques for best quality, money saving tips, freezer selection and storage methods.
Freezing classes are scheduled for:
- July 9 5:30-7:30 p.m.;
- July 10 1-3 p.m.; and
- July 13 10 a.m.-noon.
Each class will offer tasty samples and participants will take home a jar of homemade goodness. Classes are great for beginners or experienced preservers.
