Elaine Michelle Burnett, beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Rossville, Georgia, on June 29, 2025. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and brought light, love, and laughter to everyone she met.

Elaine was a dedicated homemaker and a certified medical assistant who brought her warmth and strong work ethic to every role she took on, including various hospitality assignments and her most recent work at Pruitt Health, where she made lasting friendships.

Elaine had a special way of turning everyday moments into memories. She was known for her unforgettable fried chicken, her love for Pepsi and Swiss Rolls, and her cozy style-robes, scarves, and headbands that matched her vibrant spirit. Whether she was enjoying a Tyler Perry movie or tuning in to her favorite crime show, her energy, intelligence, and vivacious attitude always filled the room.

Elaine cared deeply for others and left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She attended Vailsburg High School and spent over four decades in a loving relationship with her devoted spouse, Terry Hines.

Elaine is lovingly remembered by her children: Lasal Hines (Carrie), Arkileus Hines (Veronica), Jasmine Burnett, Rashida Smith, James Ruffin, Aberdeen Ruffin, and Mustafa Burnett.

She is survived by her siblings: Valerie Reid Weems (Howard), Phyllis Moore (Nathan), Philemon Burnett Jr., Alesia "DeDe" Burnett, and Vernon Burnett.

She also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren: Naomi, Aria, Eliana, Tahana, Joshala, Kyree, Khari, Myracle, Josiah, Mesiah, Elijah, Haniyah, and Jaymar.

Close relatives and loved ones include Tammisha Hines, Jermaine Smith, Anijah Smith, Sharik Smith, and Zaire Smith.

Elaine was preceded in death by her loving mother, Juanita Lee Burnett; her father, Philemon Burnett; her sister, Felicia Burnett; and her mother-in-law, Ethel Joyce Hines.

Public viewing will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the funeral service at noon in the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, July 9.

Interment will follow at Beautiful Greenwood Cemetery.
