100 Food 8, 5513 Highway 153, Unit 109, is a restaurant that serves Hibachi style food and Sushi. This will be the fifth location in the Chattanooga area.

There are around 40 seats at this site. The owner, Jeff Sun. was warned that the occupancy number from the health department includes staff and anybody working there in addition to the customers to prevent overcrowding.

Approval for a beer license was given contingent upon the city’s approval for zoning of the location. The Regulatory board will issue the beer license upon zoning requirements being approved.

The Chattanooga Beer Board no longer hears a violation and decides a penalty for the offense. The procedure now is that the violation is first heard by an Administrative Hearing Officer, Trevor Atchley. He makes a recommendation and at the following meeting two weeks later, the Chattanooga Beer Board hears what the AHO recommended and then either sustains the decision or changes it to what they believe is appropriate.

The latest violation at the bar “The Dream” that took place on May 10 was the fourth in less than 14 months. Authorities said The Dream, located at 2308 Glass St., failed to report a fight or disorder to the Chattanooga Police as required by the city’s beer code. Previously, another failure to report a disorder took place on Marh 17, 2024, which resulted in a vote of the board not to sustain the recommendation from Mr. Atchley. On Dec/ 1, 2024, there was a shooting inside the club that resulted in a five-day suspension, and on March 6, 2025, the owner of the bar was cited to the beer board for operating a disorderly place for which the penalty was their choice of a three-day suspension or a $1,000 fine.

For the latest violation from May 10, the recommendation was for a 10-day suspension of the bar’s beer license, which was sustained by the beer board. The Dream is not open every day of the week. The vote to suspend the beer permit was for 10 days, beginning Aug. 29 amd ending on Sept. 7 which includes Labor Day, a big drinking weekend. That bar is not open seven days a week and some days of the suspended license fall on days it is closed, said board member Brooke Barclift. But the vote had already been taken and so the days of the suspension could not be changed.
