Charlene Casteel Slatton, 78, born August 23, 1947 of Chattanooga, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on August 25, 2025.

She was a graduate of the 1965 class from Red Bank High School. She spent her career in banking, working for various credit unions in the Chattanooga area. Charlene loved to “cruise” with her favorite cruise partners. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved watching them play ball.

She was preceded in death by her husband and life partner of 61 years, Jack Slatton and her parents, Charles and Edna Casteel.

Survivors are her daughter, Cathy (Kevin) Weaver, son, Jeff Slatton, grandsons, Caleb (Morgan) Weaver, Seth Weaver and Thomas Slatton, siblings, Beverly (Walter) Jones and Ed Casteel, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, at the funeral home. Private graveside services will be held at a later date where she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the staff at Martin Boyd Assisted Living for their care and compassion shown towards Charlene during her time there.
