The Collegiate Conference of the South released its Preseason Poll for Volleyball on Wednesday afternoon with Covenant picked to finish second by the Head Coaches of the league. Covenant totaled 55 points, which was seven points behind first-place Asbury.
Covenant went 22-13 with a 12-4 CCS record in 2024, which placed it third in the CSC Regular Season standings. The Scots got hot at the right time, winning 10 games in a row, capped off by a 3-0 win over Huntingdon in the CCS Championship match to earn its third straight Championship and third straight NCAA Division III Tournament berth.
Libero Sarah Jennings and setter/middle blocker Cali Sandhoff both are back for the Scots after earning All-CCS honors in 2024 and lead a strong junior class for the Scots that also includes Kennedy Barber, Scarlett Martz, Delaney Stirm, and AnaClara Maik.
Covenant's seniors this year are Amber Snook, Kinsley Dupree, and Ella Bailey, all of which have contributed at points in their career.
Covenant's first two weekends of the season, it is hosting the Covenant Classic and the Coca-Cola Invitational where it will play six different teams from across the country, including Southern Virginia and Transylvania, who were both NCAA Division III Tournament teams a year ago.
Also in the Scots' nonconference slate is a trip out west to the California Lutheran Invitational Sep. 12-13th where it will play three teams from the Golden State.
Covenant begins CCS play on Sep. 24th with a road trip to Maryville. This match starts a 16-game conference schedule for the Scots. Covenant is looking for its third CCS Regular Season title in four years.
