The Collegiate Conference of the South released its Preseason Poll for Men's Soccer on Tuesday afternoon with Covenant picked to finish first place. The Scots totaled 34 points with four first-place votes, edging out Belhaven by one point.
Covenant is coming off a 12-3-3 season with a 4-0-2 record in CCS play which saw it win the CCS Regular Season Championship for the second year in a row. In the postseason, Covenant fell to Belhaven in the CCS Championship Match.
For the 2025 squad, the Scots return five All-CCS players, including senior forward Whitt Tisdale and senior defender Fox Landgren, who were First Team honorees and have been staples in the Covenant lineup the last two seasons.
Covenant also returns a veteran in net, in senior Eli Honeycutt, who was Second Team All-CCS in 2024 and led the league in save percentage at .826.
The Scots start the regular season this weekend at the Sonny Carter Invitational with games against Oglethorpe and Emory.
Later in the nonconference slate, Covenant plays Washington and Lee as well as Babson, who are both in the top-five of the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll.
Covenant begins CCS play on October 1st at home against Piedmont.
