The Collegiate Conference of the South released its Preseason Poll for Women's Soccer on Tuesday afternoon with Covenant picked to finish fifth out of nine teams. Covenant totaled 42 points and was four points behind fourth-place Asbury.
In 2024, the Scots went 9-6-1 with a 5-2-1 mark in CCS play to finish tied second in the league with Belhaven and Piedmont. After the tiebreaker, Covenant was seeded fourth in the CCS Tournament before falling to Asbury in the Quarterfinals.
Covenant is returning one of the strongest defenses in the league as CCS Defensive Player of the Year, Gretchen Caswell, and CCS Goalkeeper of the Year, Bronwyn Kickasola, are both back.
Second Team All-CCS defender, Autumn Biancamano also returns for the Scots' defense.
On attack, Covenant brings back AnnaLi Weekley who was tied for a team-high five goals in the 2024 season. Campbell Ayres, Lila Wiley, and Hannah Ford have also proven to be a threat up front, scoring multiple goals last season.
The Scots begin their season on Friday at Centre, which will begin a run of six games on the road to begin the season. The final of the six is a road contest at No. 4 Emory. Covenant's home opener is scheduled for Sep. 16 against Sewanee.
Covenant begins its conference slate on September 20th at home, which is Homecoming Night against Belhaven.
