Chattanooga sophomore forward Paige Thomas was named the Southern Conference women’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week the league office announced Tuesday.
Thomas scored three goals last week in the Mocs back-to-back wins over Indiana State and Morehead State. She leads the SoCon with four goals and eight points.
Chattanooga beat the Sycamores 5-3 last Thursday. With the match tied, Thomas scored her first goal of the match in the 35th minute to put UTC 2-1. She scored her second goal six minutes later and it would prove to be the game winner.
It was the first brace of her collegiate career.
Three days later, Thomas drove home the second goal against Morehead State in a 2-0 win for her third goal of the week.
Chattanooga hits the road for a Thursday match at Austin Peay. The Mocs are 3-1 on the year and lead the Southern Conference with 11 goals.
