The Chattanooga ACE Mentor Program is now accepting applications for the upcoming program year, offering high school students an opportunity to explore careers in architecture, construction, and engineering while gaining real-world experience and connections.
The ACE Mentor Program pairs students with professionals from leading design and construction companies, giving them hands-on exposure to projects, teamwork, and problem-solving in the built environment. Through workshops, site visits, and team challenges, students learn what it takes to succeed in these fast-growing industries.
Each year, ACE students work together on a design-build project that mirrors real-world challenges. This year’s project will focus on reimagining Hawk Hill, the site of the Chattanooga Lookouts’ current stadium. Students will collaborate with mentors to develop creative, practical proposals for the future of the landmark site.
A significant benefit of participation is access to scholarships. Last year, the Chattanooga ACE program awarded 10 scholarships totaling $38,000 to graduating seniors pursuing careers in the ACE fields.
“We’re proud to invest in the next generation of builders, designers, and innovators,” said ACE President, Patrick Scheele. “Through ACE, students don’t just learn about careers, they experience them. They build real projects, connect with industry leaders, and gain the confidence to see themselves shaping the future of our community. And with the scholarships we provide, we’re helping ensure that passion can turn into opportunity.”
The Chattanooga ACE Mentor Program is open to all high school students with an interest in architecture, construction, or engineering, and no prior experience required. Students will meet regularly with mentors throughout the school year to collaborate on projects and gain skills that prepare them for both college and careers.
