Wreaths Across Chattanooga At Several Food City Stores This Weekend

  • Friday, August 29, 2025
With the addition of 1,000 veterans being laid to rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery during 2025, this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, volunteers will be accepting donations at four Food City Stores on Broad Street (1375 Broad Street), Red Bank (3901 Dayton Boulevard), Hixson Pike (5604 Hixson Pike) and East Ridge (3636 Ringgold Road).

These extra volunteer efforts are to help ensure that a wreath is placed on each of these additional graves at Chattanooga National Cemetery.  Wreaths will be placed on Saturday, Dec.
13.

There are over 51,000 veterans laid to rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The mission of Wreaths across Chattanooga is to place a wreath on each grave at Chattanooga National Cemetery. In partnership with Food City, the wreaths will remain at $10, and in addition to these Food City locations, donations can be made by mail to:  Wreaths across Chattanooga, 426 Market St., Chattanooga, Tn. 37402, or online at www.chattareaveterans.com/wac.

“Here in 2025, we are having to work even harder to place a wreath on each grave at Chattanooga National Cemetery. Please remember that Wreaths across Chattanooga is a 100 percent all volunteer non-profit organization,” said Captain Mickey McCamish, U. S. Navy (retired)-chairman, Wreaths across Chattanooga chairman.
