The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will host, in conjunction with the Chattanooga Police Department, the 2024 Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony this Friday at 10 a.m. to honor the deputies and police officers from our community and our region who were killed in the line of duty.
This year’s ceremony will take place at the Hamilton County Law Enforcement Memorial at 600 Market St., and the key-note speaker will be the Honorable Judge Tom Greenholtz, Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.
During this Friday’s ceremony, local law enforcement agencies, family members of fallen deputies and officers, elected officials, members of the community and business leaders will take time to honor the sacrifice of the community’s law enforcement personnel, particularly those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
According to the Officer Down Memorial Page, 137 law enforcement personnel were killed in the line of duty in 2023 and 58 year-to-date for 2024.

Members of the community are encouraged to attend. Due to the threat of rain, if necessary, the ceremony will be moved indoors to the first floor of the Hamilton County Courts Building.
