Former Hamilton County Commission Chairman Curtis Adams hosted a weekly program on WDYN entitled, “Getting to Know You.” Mr. Adams interviewed over 100 people from public life. He enjoyed them all, especially his conversation with Engineer Dr. J. Don Brock.

Dr. Brock was a native Chattanoogan who with several other businessmen founded Astec Industries in 1972. He was recognized many times for his manufacturing creations. Under his leadership, Astec grew to a global company. He held around 100 U.S. and foreign patents. Dr. Brock died in March, 2015 from mesothelioma cancer.
